Alyssa & Vincent's lore

Hey y'all! We love having you here! It is such an honor to be able to share what we love to do with so many others. So this is how Feast & Fable came to be!

I (Alyssa) am from a very small town called Paintsville in the deep Appalachians in Kentucky. I grew up in poverty and that's what instilled a drive in me to hustle and try to get ahead in any way I could. Growing up I was always busy either painting, helping my dad with his construction jobs or hanging out with my 2 baby sister and my grandmother (mamaw cathy). We would spend hours playing 52 deck card games and board games. If I wasn't inside, you'd find me in the creek or hiking the mountains behind the trailer parks. As I got older my favorite things became expressing my creativity anyway I could by dyeing my hair. getting tattoos or painting any surface I could find. Even though I loved school, after high school, I could never narrow down what I wanted to go to college for so I decided to join the navy! 

Vincent on the other hand grew up on the other side of the United states in the very not small town of Long Beach, California. Vincent is the youngest son of his 2 immigrant parents. His mother is from the beautiful country of Cambodia and his father is from the culture rich area of Oaxaca, Mexico. Their story is a fairytale in itself and deserves its own time! Vincent only has 1 older brother and together they have spent the last 15 years playing magic the gathering, warhammer and any and all video games together. If there is a card game Vincent has played it. When not playing with his brother he would be skateboarding or exploring the town, meeting new people and making connections. Vincent is a very social person! He also found a passion for the 'unusual' pet. He has raised rats, lizards, tarantulas and many more, but his favorite are snakes. This was fueled by the reptile stores he worked at! After many years of part and full time jobs and trying his hand at college a couple times he never found anything that felt just right. So he decides to join the Navy thinking this will give him some direction and getting to travel away from home. 

Me (Alyssa) and Vincent met while we were both serving in the Navy stationed in south Carolina. We met through a mutual friend and a very funny story that ended in Vincent practically being a knight in shining armor. We have been attached at the hip ever since. After getting out of the navy we both decided moving to California was the better choice to be near family and to hopefully start our business! Over the past 3 years Vincent taught me Magic and we fell in love with playing together and it became super obvious we wanted our own shop, but I realized a lot of shops aren't fantasy inspired in decor, and I (Alyssa) loveeeeee decorating. So that's how Feast & Fable came to be!
